Technical Product Owner – FinCrime / Fraud Initiatives

Optomi is seeking a Technical Product Owner to join a growing Consumer Banking Enterprise Transformation team in Charlotte, NC. This person will support fraud and financial crimes initiatives while partnering closely with both business stakeholders and engineering teams.

What the right candidate will enjoy:

Being hands-on with product ownership, backlog management, and Agile delivery
Working closely with engineering teams to turn business needs into actionable technical requirements
Supporting high-visibility fraud, FinCrime, identity, and authentication initiatives
Helping build out a new Product organization and establish processes
Collaborating across Business, Technology, PMO, and Transformation teams
Working across 1–2 Agile delivery pods at a time

The type of experience we’re looking for:

Strong hands-on Technical Product Owner experience
Strong Agile/Scrum and Jira experience
Experience managing and prioritizing product backlogs
Strong user story writing and refinement experience
Experience working directly with engineering teams
Strong requirements gathering and stakeholder management skills
Experience in banking, financial services, or payments is highly preferred
Background in fraud, Financial Crimes (FinCrime), authentication, or Identity & Access Management (IAM) is a major plus

What you’ll be doing:

Own, manage, and prioritize product backlogs
Create and refine user stories and acceptance criteria
Ensure requirements are clear and sprint-ready for engineering
Partner with engineering teams throughout delivery
Translate business requirements into actionable technical work
Support roadmap planning, ideation, and elaboration
Maintain Jira and Agile delivery artifacts
Balance competing priorities across business and technology stakeholders
Support initiatives around fraud detection/prevention, customer authentication, IAM, digital fraud experiences, and data modernization
